Rise of the planet of the apes
Here is an excellent example of how to use CGI (Computer Generated Imagery) in a movie. The lead role is animated. And the apes really show a lot of expressions and realistic behavior. There is not many movies like this made. It takes a lot of money and work to be able to finish a production like this.

Melancholia
This is a different and very unique movie. I think the concept renders the relationships very interesting. Lars von Trier is a really good director and writer.
Kirsten Dunst won the price for Best Actress at Cannes Film Festival for the role as Justine.

The Young Victoria
I think this is an honest depiction of Queen Victoria’s younger days. And yet if the cliches of even the rich kid has big problems and are so over protected. There is a lot of different aspects. And it has a little of everything that is necessary of being a good movie.
The movie got an Oscar for Best Achievement in Costume Design and has another 9 wins and 12 nominations.
